High School Biology Club: An Ecosystem Project

High School Biology Club (HSBC) has gained the approval and is now preparing for the creation of an important activity - to create a self-sustainable ecosystem. This idea came from a youtuber called Mr. Plants, where he made a DIY ecosystem out of Silicone, a water tank, and a water filter system. In addition to the materials mentioned in his tutorial of the ecosystem, we plan to add organisms such as milk frogs, vampire crabs, crickets, mealworms, garden snails, springtails, shrimp, malaysian trumpet snails, red root floaters and Geckos. The planned location for this ecosystem is in the C area of 4th floor, where it can be viewed by students, teachers and faculty that pass through the corridors.
高中部生物社团(HSBC) 已经获得批准,现在正准备创建一个重要的活动—-创建一个可自我维持的生态系统。这个想法来自于一个叫 "Mr.Plants"的Youtube 网友;他用硅胶、水箱和水过滤系统制作了一个 DIY 生态系统。除了他的生态系统教程中提到的材料外,我们还计划添加一些生物,如乳蛙、吸血蟹、蟋蟀、肉虫、花园蜗牛、春田螺、虾、马来西亚喇叭螺、红根浮子和壁虎。这个生态系统的计划地点是在4楼的C区,通过走廊的学生、老师和教员都可以看到它。
We plan to create this project with the help of the Art Club (AC). Starting with a structure, we will incorporate the filter chamber & air duct system when landscaping the tank, then use silicone to create a rough surface for the foam to hold on. Then add tree branches with foam but keep pot area empty (putting potholes) for a few days to dry; lastly, we carve the foam to finish the inorganic base of this layout. The secondary step to this project is to install the water filtrating system as well as mesh to cover up the filter systems as well as the water tubes. Last but not least is to decorate the whole structure with substrate (sphagnum moss), plants, air duct system, misting fan, etc...
我们计划与鎂樹沝(AC)一同创造这个项目。从结构开始,我们将在美化水箱时加入过滤室和空气管道系统,然后用硅胶创造一个粗糙的表面,让泡沫附着在上面。
然后用泡沫添加树枝,但要保持盆地区域的空旷(放坑洞)--要等几天才干;
