Hi, Cecilia. Can you tell us a little bit about vour experience at these two events?
你好，杨茜茜同学。你能为我们讲述一下在这两场活动中你的经历吗？
Q: 两个活动分别是融贯东西大会和课程夜，在融贯东西大会活动中我是杜克大学招生官助手，那天做的最多的是帮助不会英文的家长和其他的外校的人翻译并且讲解。在课程夜活动，我做的主要是 AP 课程讲解的主持人。
A: The two activities are the EMW and the Curriculum Night. During the EMW, I was an assistant to the admissions officer of Duke University. What I did most that day was helping parents who did not speak English and other people from other schools translate and explain. At Curriculum Night, I serve as the host of AP course explanations.
Q: 在你的志愿者服务过程中，你有遇到什么有趣的事情吗？What are some interesting things you experienced in these events?
A: 我认为最令我感到愉悦的是我可以跟不同的老师以及不同的招生官交流，与来自不同国家的人或不同领域的人进行交流是非常有趣的。
I think the most enjoyable thing for me is that I can communicate with different teachers and different admissions officers, and everyone is remarkably interesting. It is interesting to communicate with people from different countries or different fields.
Q: 你认为什么能力或品质对于一个志愿者来说很重要？What abilities or qualities do you thinkare important for a volunteer？
A: 我觉得最重要的是你要很乐意去沟通，因为有些人会比较内向或者在人多的场合不敢发言。我认为志愿者本身就是一个对于社区作出贡献的角色，你就是要很勇敢的去跟不同人交流，去融入社区。
The most important thing is that you must be willing to communicate because some people are more introverted or afraid to speak in crowded situations. I think volunteers themselves are a role that contributes to the community. You have to be brave enough to communicate with different people and assimilate into the community.
Q: 你认为你的志愿服务对于你的个人成长有什么帮助吗？Do you think your volunteering has contributed to your personal growth?
A: 肯定是有的，但我现在很难说出它让我哪一点有很大的变化，我只能说是我越来越能够接受并坦然的去公开说很多话。我其实是在人多的场合是会很社恐的那种人，我朋友也知道我会在公众面前讲话的时候会特别紧张，但是到后面讲多了，就会习惯这样的场合。面对家长老师和学生等不同的询问，回答的也都会更加的自如。
Definitely somewhat, but it is hard for me to say how much it has changed me at this point. I can only say that I am more able to accept and say a lot of things openly. I am actually the kind of person who tends to be very socially anxious in crowded situations. My friends also know that I will be particularly nervous when speaking in public, but as I speak more, I will get used to such situations. Facing different questions from parents, teachers and students, will be able to answer them more freely.
Q: 对于其他有兴趣参与志愿服务的学生，你对他们有什么建议吗？
Do you have any advice for other students interested in volunteering？
A: 我的建议是要规划好自己的时间，你要想好我在这个时间做这个事情，我是否还有时间完成学习，是否还有时间去完成我的课余爱好，这个是很重要的。然后就是做好心理准备，因为这个活动真的很累。
My suggestion is to plan your time well. You have to think carefully about whether I still have time to complete my studies and whether I still have time to complete my extracurricular hobbies when I do this currently. Then just be mentally prepared because this activity is really tiring.
