Q: Hi Laura, first of all, congratulations on receiving the offer from Pratt, Parson, CCA, and SVA NYC Art Universities; how did you feel when you received the offers?
你好，史小珞同学，首先要恭喜你收到了 Pratt、Parson、CCA以及SVC NYC的offer，你收到offer后感觉如何？
A: 谢谢！我收到普瑞特，帕森斯和纽约视觉艺术 offer 之后感觉是很开心的，因为有大学认可我并且愿意让我去读书。
Thank you! After receiving the offer from Pratt,Parsons, and SVA I felt very happy because the colleges precognite me and are willing to give me a chance to learn.
Q: Can you briefly summarize your university application and interview process? What are your experiences on it? Did you have any special encounters in this process?
你可以简单描述一下大学申请流程吗？在这个过程中你有什么特别的经历吗？
A:大学申请流程对于我们学习视觉艺术的同学们应该是准备好学校的材料：成绩单活动和文书之类的。申请美国需要先填写 ciaolfo，然后通过 common app 提交给大学，最后收到大学上传作品集的 Slideroom。申请英国方面要填写 ucas，然后等大学的邮件通知，再提交我们的作品集然后等待一审以及面试。
The college application process for students studying visual arts should be to prepare our transcript, activities, and personal statement. To apply to the US, students need to fill in Ciafo first, then submit application materials to the universities through Common app, and finally receive the University’s Slideroom to upload a digital portfolio.
To apply for the UK, students should fill in UCAS, wait for the email notification from the universities, and then submit our portfolio. The last step is to wait for the interview invitation.
我觉得最特别的经历就是我提交申请费的时候，那天是 ed 以及 ea 截止的前一天晚上，我内心很激动，因为感觉这是我第一次离大学如此之近。
I think the most special encounter was when I was submitting the application fee. That day was the night before the deadline of my ED and EA. I was very excited because I felt that this was the first time, I was so close to going to a university.
Q:What do you think is the most difficult part in the process of applying for university?
在你申请大学的过程中，你觉得最困难的或对你造成困扰的环节是什么？
A:我觉得就是填写 common app 吧哈哈，因为有好多信息需要填写！
I think the most difficult part was to fill in the common app information, because there is a lot of information to fill in!
Q:Did you encounter any interviewer that changed your view of a particular university?
我们都很好奇你有没有遇到过改变你对某所大学看法的面试官？比如特别不正经的，或者特别奇葩的面试官？
A: 我申请美国方向的时候没有遇到面试官哈哈，因为我申请的学校都是不需要面试的。英国方向的还在等候面试通知！但我在申请之前有幸和几位来自不同艺术院校的教授交流，我觉得他们都非常友好，而且给我提供了很多作品以及排版上的建议！
I didn't meet the interviewer when I applied for American universities, because the school ! applied for does not require interview section. I am still waiting for universities in UK about the interview notice! But before I applied, I had the honor to communicate with several professors from different art schools. I think they are very friendly and have provided me with advice with many works and suggestions on typesetting!
Q: Almost everyone cares about their GPA. In your opinion, what role did GPA play in university application? How much help can an excellent GPA give you?
几乎所有人都关心他们自己的GPA，在你看来，GPA 在大学申请中起到了什么样的作用？一个优秀的GPA 能带给你多大的帮助？
A: 我觉得GPA 在申请大学的时候是很重要的一环，更高的GPA 可以让同学们更有竞争力。一个优秀的GPA 可以给大学一个很好的印象，证明自己在平时的学习态度是很端正的。
I think GPA is a very important part when applying for university. Higher GPA can make students stand out in the competition. I think an excellent GPA can give a good impression to the universities and prove that student has a good attitude towards studying.
Q: What effect did the TSAA play in your application process？
清澜山美术学院在你升学的过程中起到了什么样的效果？
A: 我很喜欢清澜山美术学院，我觉得TSAA 在申请中帮助了我很多，尤其是作品集的部分，老师们与我交流，给了我更多产出的可能性，以及发散性思维的帮助。同学们也都有才有趣，给申请中的我很多支持。
I really like Tsinglan Art Academy! I think TSAA has helped me a lot and especially with the portfolio. The teachers have communicated with me and guide me for more possibilities of portfolio outputs and divergent thinking. The students are also talented and interesting. They gave me a lot of support during the application!
Q: Apart form your parents, who was the first person you wanted to inform when you got the offer?
除了你的父母，当你得到 offer 时，你第一个想通知的人是谁？
A: 老师们和朋友们！我都想通知哈哈哈哈哈！
I want to inform all my teachers and friends!
Q:Among the many offers you have received, is there your dream school? Are there any offers from any university that surprises you?
在你收到的许多 offer 中，有你心仪的梦校吗？有没有哪所大学的 offer 令你出乎意料？
A: 有的！我觉得所有的 offer 都出乎我的意料，因为近几年艺术生不管是作品集还是标化还是成绩都越来越卷了，所以我在得到结果之前都不知道有哪些大学会录取我。
Yes, I have! I think all offers are beyond my expectation. In recent years, art students have become more and more hardworking in terms of portfolio, standardization tests and grades, so I didn't know which university would accept me before I get the results.
Q: If you receive offers from two of your dream schools, what will be the key factor in your decision?
如果你同时收到了你心中两所梦校的 offer，什么会成为你决定的关键因素？
A: 我觉得要看院校的排名以及我选择的专业排名，学校的地理位置也是很重要的。
I think it depends on the ranking of universities and as well as the professional ranking I choose. The geographical location of the school is also very important for me.
Q: What were some challenges you faced being the first graduating class of Tsinglan School?
作为清澜山学校的第一届毕业生，你面临了哪些挑战？
A: 我觉得作为清澜山学校的第一届毕业生，面临的挑战就是没有学长学姐传递申请经验之类的哈哈哈哈。
I think as one of the first year graduates of Tsinglan School, the challenge is to have no seniors to share application experiences.
Q:Since you are leaving Tsinglan School, do you have anything you want to do in the school before you leave? It can be crazy, or not allowed by the school.
在离开清澜山之前，你有什么特别想在学校做的事吗？可以是很疯狂的事，或者是学校绝不允许的事？
我想给TSAA 第4工作室开一扇窗户哈哈哈哈哈，或者建一个从教学楼滑到食堂的滑梯。
I want to open a window at TSAA Studio 4 or build a slide from the teaching building to the canteen.
Q: What do you want to wear on the first day of going to university?
去新大学报到的第一天，你会穿什么衣服？
A: 我可能会穿T恤和裤子，然后配上我喜欢的配饰以及大学的周边之类的。
I would probably wear T-shirts and pants, and then wear my favorite clothing accessories and the souvenirs of the university.
Q: How would you envision leaving Tsinglan to pursue footsteps in your university? For example, when will you start dating, or is there anything you particularly yearn for?
你如何畅想离开清澜山后的大学生活？比如什么时候会开始谈恋爱，或者有没有什么你特别向往的事？
A: 因为我有朋友和我一起考到纽约，所以我很期待去大学了可以找他们一起吃饭一起出去聚会！我很向往能遇到新的以及志同道合的朋友以及教授老师等等！
Because I have friends who have been admitted to schools in New York, I am looking forward to going to college and fun with them! I am also looking forward to meeting new friends, professors and teachers!
Q: Are there anything you can't do in high school but you really want to do in college?
有什么是你在高中不能做但你去到大学非常想做的吗？
A: 可能是开车吧！我马上要成年可以去考驾照了，但是考出来的时候我已经毕业了，之前想开来学校带大家兜风，后面发现来不及了哈哈哈哈。
Maybe it's driving! I am about to become an adult where I can get my driver's license. But when I get the test, I will probably have already graduated. I wanted to go to Tsinglan school to take my friends for a ride.
Q: At this moment, do you particularly want to thank one or a group of people in Tsinglan? He or she can be a teacher, your classmate, even security guard and cleaner.
此时此刻，有没有特别想感谢在清澜山的其中一个人或者一群人？Ta 可以是老师或者你的同学，甚至可以是学校的物业工作人员。
A: 我想感谢所有帮助我的学术老师，升学老师以及TSAA的老师们，我的同学和朋友们，在我遇到各种困难时候能帮助到我！
I would like to thank all the academic teachers, college counseling teachers and TSAA teachers, and my classmates and friends who helped me when I encountered various difficulties!
Q: Finally, do you have any advice for college applications for juniors?
最后，对于自己的学弟学妹有什么想说的吗？能否在他们申学的路上给点建议？
A: 我有好多想说的啊！（由于本人是申请的艺术方向所以分享一些艺术申请的建议哈：
GPA 搞上去！
夏校参加一下！（可以更好的了解大学以及和大学的契合度）
作品集提前做，好好做，好好修改，最好8月之前全搞定！
观察绘画很重要，好好画！
文书很重要，要好好写，好好修，和升学指导多沟通！
标化成绩早点考！根据大学的要求赶紧考完，后面就轻松一点
最后一点，我觉得就算被自己 ED 的学校拒绝了也没什么，我也被自己ED的学校拒绝了，但这不代表我是个很差的人，同理同学们也不要这么想，最好的最适合你的总会来的！
I have a lot to say! But because I apply for art majors, so these are some advice for students who are participating in art applications!
Get a high GPA!
Try to participate in Summer school! (You can better know the university)
The portfolio should be prepared early, well done, and well revised. It is better to complete it before August!
It is very important to have good observational painting. Draw it well!
The personal statement and application essay are very important. It should be written and revised properly. Also keep communicate with your college counselor !
Standardized test could be tested earlier! If students achieve the scores the universities require earlier, there could be less stress later.
Finally, I think that rejected by ED school is fine. I was also rejected by my ED school, but this does not mean that I am a loser. Similarly, other students should not think so. The best and most suitable school for you will always come!
